Programs & Tuition Programs In recent years it has been recognized that preschool provides children with opportunities to enjoy many activities not afforded at home; to express themselves creatively through a wide variety of art and music activities, to learn techniques of getting along with others, to acquire self-discipline and to discover the joys of learning and achieving. A Cooperative Spirit is alive and well at John Knox Cooperative Preschool!
John Knox Cooperative Preschool welcomes the energies and talents of the parents and their families to make preschool experience rich, lively and enjoyable for the children! The ages of the children range from 3 to 5 years of age. We follow the California State Instruction Calendar which is 3 years old by December 2nd or 4 years old by December 2nd. Preschool is in session from September to June. Holidays and spring break follow the calendar of local school districts. All Children must be potty trained before attending John Knox Co-Op Preschool. The 3 AM class, is designed to build self-esteem, learn self-control and develop social skills through play. The 4 AM class with Kindergarten Readiness, is designed for those children who are four years old and ready to go to school 3 days a week. The Pre-Kindergarten Afternoon Class, has an extended curriculum designed for older four year olds and those ready for school 4 days a week.
Days and Class Times 3 AM Class Days: Tuesday and Thursday Time: 9:00 am - 11:30 am
4 AM class with Kindergarten Readiness Days: Monday, Wednesday and Friday Time: 9:00am - 11:30am
Pre-Kindergarten Afternoon Class Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday Time:12:15pm - 2:45pm
Snack is served at each class. Families can sign up to volunteer to bring a nutritious snack for the entire class on our calendar. The children learn patience while they share and pour their drink.
Tuition 2010-2011
3 AM Class $1500/annual – broken into 10 payments of $150/month 4 AM class with Kindergarten Readiness $1950/annual – broken into 10 payments of $195/month Pre-Kindergarten Afternoon Class $2600/annual – broken into 10 payments of $260/month
*Payments are due on the 1st day of the month, and are late after the 6th day of the month. *We have 3 convenient payment plans. Please contact our Tuition Chairperson for more detailed information. A cooperative preschool is run by the parents and families of the children
who attend. The work you invest is rewarded by the opportunity to become an
active part of your child's education, meet other dedicated parents, and provide
your child with a high quality education at a very reasonable price. One parent
or other representative of the family is responsible for working in the
classroom approximately 5 weeks out of the school year as well as contributing
to maintenance
of the school and attending a few mandatory events during the year. These
include the Parent Orientation Luncheon in September, the
Ice Cream Social
Fundraiser and the Christmas Workshop.
